Required Documentation

The more prepared you are before beginning the VA loan process, VA loan applicationthe easier the process will ultimately be. Below are the minimum document requirements for each applicable VA loan. Once you have submitted your application and documentation to your lender, and depending on your scenario, additional documentation could be required. Check with a  <VA Loan Specialist> for more information.

VA Documents always required:

  1. Certificate of Eligibility (This can be ordered by the Lender quicker)
  2. Form 28-1880 (Request for COE)
  3. Form DD-214
  4. Form 28-8937 (For service Connected Disability Benefits only)

New VA Loan for Home Purchase

  1. Purchase Contract
  2. Most recent 1 full month of pay stubs
  3. Most recent 2 years of W2′s (Tax returns if self employed)
  4. Cancelled Earnest Money Check in order to be credited at close
  5. Source of funds for Earnest Money deposit in order to be credited at closing
  6. Contact information for Home Owner’s Insurance
  7. Government Issued ID

Regular Refinance

  1. Most recent 1 full month of pay stubs
  2. Most recent 2 years of W2′s (Tax returns if self employed)
  3. Most recent mortgage statement or current mortgage information for payoff
  4. Contact information for Home Owner’s Insurance
  5. Government Issued ID
  6. Termite inspection before closing (if applicable – More information here)

VA Streamline Refinance

  1. Mortgage “NOTE”
  2. Most recent Mortgage Statement
  3. State Issued I.D.
